He, however, said such problems can be eradicated through the creation of sustainable good quality jobs and conducive work environments.

“It is necessary that government operates in a conducive environment in which employers can attract quality skills to boost productivity and competitiveness that can improve the situation of employees and Malawi as a whole,” said Munthali, at a news conference he announced the holding of 2015 Top Employers’ Awards Gala slated for this Friday in Lilongwe.

He said the top employers’ awards are given in recognition of best practices their members have developed over the years.

“We believe we can contribute to economic growth through sustainable employment policies,” said Munthali.

The 2015’s Top Employers’ Awards will be held under the theme Relevant Skills for Business: Towards Improved Competition and Productivity. n
